URL structure

This pattern is guidance on how to structure URLs across websites provided by South Gloucestershire Council.

What you need to do

• All URL’s that are 1 or more levels must be hyphenated and all lowercase
• Do not uppercase each word, must be all lowercase for readability and consistency

Examples of correct implementation

• www.southglos.gov.uk/this-is-my-url
• www.southglos.gov.uk/example

Examples of incorrect implementation

• www.southglos.gov.uk/thisisareallylongurlthathasmultiplewords
• www.southglos.gov.uk/This-Is-Uppercased-Words
• www.southglos.gov.uk/This has spaces in the url
