We are carrying out more maintenance improvements to school buildings than ever this year, with work taking place at a number of primary schools across South Gloucestershire over the summer holidays and in to the autumn.

This maintenance work includes new roofing, heating and water services, replacement electrical work and new windows.

The investment totals over £2 million in maintenance in this year alone and forms part of a four year programme of work totalling £7.5 million.

Cabinet Member for Schools, Skills and Employment Cllr Erica Williams said: “Improving educational standards in South Gloucestershire is our top priority and we want to make sure that our pupils have the best school facilities available that we are able to provide. These considerable improvements that are taking place at a number of primary schools across our area will help ensure that we are adequately prepared for the future.”
