Ambrose Charles Hillier served with the 3rd (Kings Own) Hussars in France and Flanders and was Killed in Action on 18 September 1914 age 21

The Kings Own Hussars landed in Rouen during August 1914 and were soon in the thick of battle. It was during the Battle of Aisne on the 18th of September 1914 when Ambrose was Killed in Action.

Ambrose body was initially buried locally, possibly in Oeuilly or Troyon churchyard but after the Armistice he was moved to the Vendresse British Cemetery where he now rests in grave reference II D20
