"It is with sincere regret that we record the death of Arthur George Criddle, who joined the Royal Field Artillery shortly after the out break of war and who received his discharge, owing to ill health after about nine months service. He died, after a long illness borne with great patience, on August 30th and his funeral, at which a very large number of parishioners were present, took place on September 2nd. He was for many years a member of our church choir." Frenchay Church magazine October 1917
