Christopher George Strugnell was born in 1887 in Frampton Cotterell. His mother was Eleanor Stugnell from Southampton, who worked as a tailoress from home in 1901. Christopher was brother to Charles, Harold, William and Victor

Christopher was an agricultural horse boy on a farm in 1901 and a bread deliverer in 1911. Christopher married Ethel Tovey in 1908 and they lived in Adams Land in Coalpit Heath in 1911

Christopher enlisted in Bristol and served with the 7th Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers (London Regiment) and formerly Private 20588, Queen’s Royal West Surrey Regiment, 4th Battalion. Christopher was Killed in Action on 30 October 1917 at the age of 30. He was awarded the Victory and British War medals
