Died: Between 19/09/1944 and 25/09/1944.
Dennis had a younger brother and sister and was the son of a laundry worker. He married Vera a corset maker in 1939.
Dennis’s battalion fought in the Western Europe Campaign landing in Normandy prior to D-Day to destroy bridges and gun batteries. The battalion also took part in Monty’s failed initiative Operation Market Garden landing in the Netherlands on the 17th September and tasked with securing 5 bridges across the Rhine to enable the allies advance. Dennis was originally reported as missing and then killed in action 2 days after the commencement of this operation.
