Further information:

Edward was born in Littleton-upon-Severn, the son of a farmer and a middle child of five children with two sisters and two brothers. His older brother Samuel also saw war service and both brothers served and returned. The details of Edward’s war service have not been found.

Edward married Lily Hopkins in Worcester in 1923 and in 1926 the couple were living at Stock Farm, Thornbury where Edward's parents were farming. Lily died four years into their marriage in 1927 at the age of 27 and was buried at St Mary's Littleton on Severn. Sometime after 1929, Edward moved to Birmingham where his death, which was unrelated to his war service, was registered in 1976.
