Frederick Charles Pickett married Emily Louisa Judd in 1908 in St. George, Hannover Square – also recorded as Louise Emily. Their first daughter Mona Alice was born in 1908 prior to their marriage. By 1911 they had had two more daughters – Hilda Muriel and Elsie May Pickett. Over the years Frederick gained promotion to the rank of Company Quartermaster – Serjeant. On 10th December he became a Second Lieutenant 'in the field' – Gazetted on 30th March 1915. It appears that Frederick Pickett was severely wounded and returned to the UK where he was placed temporarily on the half-pay list on account of ill health from 11th December 1915. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records F C Pickett as dying on 6th January 1915 whereas FreeBMD has the death registration of a Frederick Charles Pickett, age 35, Brentford, 3a 89, in the Match Quarter of 1916.
