George was born in 1895 (1st Quarter) and was Baptised at Downend Christ Church on 10 April 1895. George was Alfred and Julia's fourth child (of ten). Alfred and Julia still lived in Morley Road in 1939, but were the sole occupants of the house.

George served with the 6th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry and was Killed in Action on 9/04/1917.

George is commemorated on the Downend Christ Church Memorial and the Staple Hill Page Park Memorial.
