George served with the 2nd/4th Battalion, Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire Regiment) as a private. George died on the 18th December 1917

George Abbott is remembered on the Badminton Memorial board in the Village Hall and on the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, now at Yate and District Heritage Centre under Badminton
