George Abra was born in Alveston in 1899 to parents, George and Susanna (nee George) Abra of Bristol Road, Frampton Cotterell. He was brother to Hector, Ruth, Madeline, Dora and Mary. Their father worked as a journeyman baker and he was born in Romsey

George Abra served with the 2nd/4th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment as a private. George died on the 8th November 1918 at the age of 19 years. George is buried at the Arnos Vale Cemetery, Bristol. Ref: Screen Wall 3. 722
