George Hall was born in Tormarton in 1890 to parents, John and Hannah Hall. He was brother to William, Sarah Ann, Kate and Matilda. His widowed father lived in Tormarton and was working as a road labourer in 1911

George served with the 1st/4th Battalion of the Gloucestershire Regiment and died of wounds in France on the 17th August 1916

George was awarded the Victory and the British medals

George Hall is buried in the Puchevillers British Cemetery (Ref: I. E. 77.), France
