Harry Selman was born in 1889 in Tormarton, to parents, Thomas and Sarah Selman. Some records show his surname spelt Silman.

Harry served with the 5th Battalion of the Royal Berkshire Regiment as a private. Harry was Killed in Action on the 25th August 1918.

Harry Selman was awarded the Victory, British War and 1914-1915 Star medals. Harry was 29 when he died.

Harry Selman is buried in the Peronne Road Cememtery (Ref: 1V. H. 40.), Maricourt, France.
