Lionel Andrews is remembered on the on the Chipping Sodbury Town Cross and on the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, now at Yate and District Heritage Centre under Hawkesbury Upton.

Lionel Frederick Andrews lived at the Barton in Hawkesbury Upton before joining the Royal Navy in 1913. He fought at the Battle of the Falklands in 1914 and in the Dardanelles as part of the Gallipoli Operations in 1915. He was Killed in Action in September 1917, while serving aboard HMS Contest when a German U-Boat torpedoed the ship.
