Reginald Stone was born in 1900 in Frampton Cotterell, to parents Albert James and Georgiana Stone (nee Screen). He was brother to Arthur, Sidney, Victor, Caroline (Bessie), Edward and Henry. Reginald's brother Henry also died in the war. Their father was born in Westerleigh and worked as a blacksmith

Five boys of the Stone family fought in the war. Four were wounded including Reginald who was repatriated from France to Bath War Hospital in 1918. He died in hospital in August 1922. The death register for Bath War Hospital records that Reginald died from pneumocoeal meningitis and cardiac failure

He is buried in St Peter’s churchyard in Frampton Cotterell. No records could be found to confirm his regiment
