Roy was an employee of Bristol Aeroplane Company and is commemorated on the company’s war memorial inside St Peter’s Church. He was killed as a result of a bombing raid at Bristol Aeroplane Co. Works at Filton. He was a member of the Works ARP (Air Raid Precautions), Squad.
He died of his wounds the day after the bombing raid at Southmead Hospital.
