Further information:

On the 1911 Census, William was living with his parents and two older sisters in Farndish Road, Irchester, Northants.

William married Alice Lydia Cotterell in 1st quarter 1918 Thornbury District.

Alice was a laundry maid at Tortworth Court on the 1911 census, and this was also the contact address on the pension card dated 1919. It is possible William worked in service at Tortworth Court prior to enlisting, but this has not been confirmed.

William served with the 8th Battalion, King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment) and Died of Wounds on 27 August 1918 aged 30.
