These sessions will be taking place in various libraries throughout the week and must be booked in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Cabinet Member for Communities and Tourism Cllr Heather Goddard said: \u201cWe are very excited to be part of the Festival of Learning this year by showcasing some of the educational services South Gloucestershire libraries have to offer. Adult learning is an important part of what libraries do and we look forward to opening our doors to anyone who is interested in taking part and helping them to kick-start their learning journey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Family History sessions include:<br \/>\nCadbury Heath Library, Monday 19 June, 1pm to 4pm<br \/>\nThornbury Library, Monday 19 June, 9.30am to 12.30pm<br \/>\nWinterbourne Library, Friday 23 June, 10am to 11am<br \/>\nHanham Library, Friday 23 June, 12 noon to 2pm<br \/>\nPatchway Library, Saturday 24 June, 10am to 11am<br \/>\nStaple Hill Library, Saturday 24 June, 10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm<br \/>\nEmersons Green Library, Saturday 24 June, 11am to 3.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>To complement the Family History taster sessions, a Family History Resources exhibition is taking place at Emersons Green Library from 13 to 24 June during library opening hours.<\/p>\n<p>Get to know your gadgets &#8211; one to one sessions helping with personal IT gadgets from smartphones to laptops and iPads &#8211; sessions include:<br \/>\nBradley Stoke Library, Tuesday 20 June, 30 min slots from 9.30am to 11.30am<br \/>\nKingswood Library, Monday 19 June, 1 hour slots 10am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3pm<br \/>\nYate Library, Thursday 22 June, 9.30am to 12.30pm.<\/p>\n<p>IT &amp; internet for beginners sessions include:<br \/>\nStay Safe online workshop at Filton Library, Thursday 22 June, 3pm to 4pm<br \/>\nGeneral IT advice at Filton Library, Saturday 24 June, 10am to 12 noon (one hour slots)<br \/>\nInternet for beginners at Chipping Sodbury Library, Tuesday 20 June, Wednesday 21 and Friday 23 June (mornings).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there is a T\u2019ai Chi taster session taking place at Downend Library on Wednesday 21 June, 3pm to 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>For further details including booking information for all sessions, visit the Festival of Learning page on our website <a href=\"http:\/\/track.vuelio.uk.com\/z.z?l=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5zb3V0aGdsb3MuZ292LnVrL2xpYnJhcnlldmVudHM%3d&amp;r=9596036287&amp;d=3918929&amp;p=1&amp;t=h&amp;h=7e6fda22b7213214453886b2a28906ae\">www.southglos.gov.uk\/libraryevents<\/a> or call 01454 868006.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>South Gloucestershire libraries are hosting taster sessions as part of the nationwide 2017 Festival of Learning (19 to 25 June).
