Small businesses in South Gloucestershire are encouraged to apply for a Discretionary Restart Grant of up to \u00a32,000 to help with the financial impact of Covid-19.<\/p>\n

This grant can help if you have been trading throughout lockdown but have been impacted by Covid-19 or have been closed but are looking to re-open as restrictions ease.<\/p>\n

This is a discretionary grant for those not eligible for the business restart scheme. It may also be referred to as an additional restrictions grant.<\/p>\n

Applications are now open and will close on 18 June. These will be assessed week beginning 21 June 2021 and successful applicants will be paid week beginning 28 June 2021. A maximum of one grant per business (not per property) will be given.<\/p>\n

Funding is available for businesses who do not pay business rates, as well as those who do.<\/p>\n

Businesses who pay business rates can apply for:<\/p>\n

\u2022 rateable value of \u00a315,000 and under will get up to \u00a31,000
\n\u2022 rateable value above \u00a315,000 and less than \u00a351,000 will get up to \u00a31,500
\n\u2022 rateable value \u00a351,000 and above will get up to \u00a32,000.<\/p>\n

Businesses who do not pay business rates can apply for:<\/p>\n

\u2022 grants of up to \u00a3500 for sole trader businesses
\n\u2022 grants of up to \u00a31,000 for businesses with 1 to 9 employees (excluding yourself)
\n\u2022 grants of up to \u00a31,500 for businesses with 10 to 49 employees.<\/p>\n

South Gloucestershire Council\u2019s Cabinet Member for Corporate Resources, Cllr Ben Burton said: \u201cWe are very pleased to have already helped hundreds of local businesses bounce-back with over \u00a3130 million in grants and business rates relief, and we want to reach as many as possible as restrictions ease.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are keen to reach all of the businesses in South Gloucestershire who are eligible for this scheme and have suffered financially due to the financial impact of coronavirus lockdown. This funding is specifically for those businesses who are reopening as restrictions begin to ease or have continued trading but have been impacted financially as a result of the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once your application has been processed, we will be in touch to let you know the outcome. If eligible, we will let you know how much you are entitled to and when you will receive payment.
