Further information:

Arthur was born in 1894 (2nd Quarter), Mangotsfield, Bristol. On the 1911 Census, Arthur is recorded as Alfred. Arthur married Grace Gwendoline Ford at St James Church, Mangotsfield on 22 November 1914. Arthur and Grace did not have any children. Grace married again in 1922 (John Cook – Chipping Sodbury District).

Arthur served with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment and was Killed in Action on 26/08/1916.

The rank shown on the Staple Hill Page Park Memorial is Dvr (Driver) which appears to be an error as records could not find any casualties with that rank and name combination.
