In the 1911 Census, Arthur was a boarder living in Forest Road, Fishponds, and his parents lived at 91 Staple Hill Road, Fishponds. Arthur married Gladys (nee Wake) in the 1st Quarter of 1916.

Arthur served with the 1st Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment and was Killed in Action on 04/02/1917.
