Arthur married Eliza Lilian Bassett (Nee Keshane) in 1904 in London. Arthur and Elizabeth had two children Robert Arthur (born 1905) and Norah Elsie Mary (Born 1907).

In 1911, Arthurs parents lived at Camp House, Oldbury Upon Severn and were still living there during WW1.

Arthur served with the 15th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry and was Killed in Action on 25 September 1915.
