Bence was the son of Frank and Kate Cox of Godwins Farm Yate. There were four children in the family, Bence, Edward, Rachel and Evelyn
Bence Cox enlisted in Lordbury. He was in “B” Squadron, 1st Royal Gloucestershire Hussars, Yeomanry. Also the Household Cavalry and Cavalry of the Line (incl. Yeomanry and Imperial Camel Corps). Bence was Killed in Action in Egypt
Bence Cox is remembered on the Yate Lych gate Memorial and the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, which is now at Yate and District Heritage Centre, under Yate
