Cyril was born in 1892 (2nd Quarter) Thornbury. He married Mary F H Couper in 1914 (4th Quarter). Mary and Cyril had one daughter Winifred Joan, born 17/03/1917. Mary remarried a Ernest Thomas in 1919.

Address – The pensions card (dated 1917), records the home address of Mary as 6 Grove road, Redland, which was then amended to c/o Brooks Dye Works, High Street Staple Hill, and then further amended to 149 Forest Road, Fishponds. On the CWGC records Mary's address was recorded as 50 High Street, Staple Hill. The later addresses may be related to Mary's second marriage.

Cyril served with the 1st Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment and was Killed in Action on 2/08/1917.
