Clifford Percy Lloyd was born in 1898. His parents were John and Mary Ann Lloyd who lived in Winterbourne Down. (Possible brother of George Lloyd who was also killed in the war).

Clifford joined the 249th Company of the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) as a private. Clifford was Killed in Action on 22 August 1917 at the age of 19.

Clifford is buried in the Hooge Crater Cemetery in Belgium. He is also remembered on the memorial in All Saints Churchyard in Winterbourne Down and on Whiteshill Common Memorial (Winterbourne Down Face) in Hambrook.
