Cyril Evelyn Rogers was a School Attendance Officer who lived at The Avenue, Yate, with is wife Amy and their children Archibald and Harold. His Father was the Master of the British School in North Road.

Cyril enlisted in Bristol to the 12th Battalion (Service Bristol) Gloucestershire Regiment and disembarked in France on 21st November 1915. He was Killed in Action aged 32 and is buried in the Guillemont Road Cemetery (Ref: XIV. H. 5.).

Cyril Evelyn Rogers is remembered on the Yate Lych Gate Memorial and Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, which is now at Yate and District Heritage Centre, under Yate.
