Donald was born in Gloucestershire and married Milinda Hall in Oxford at the beginning of 1943.
Donald’s Battalion, the 1st Battalion, Oxford and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry were part of the British Expeditionary Force and also fought in the North West Europe Campaign. Donald died at Osler Pavilion TB hospital in Oxford, 6 months after the war ended.
