Edward was the son of a cowman and a middle child of 6 children with 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Edward enlisted first in the Wiltshire Regiment, before transferring to the 10th Battalion, Princess Charlotte of Wales's Royal Berkshire Regiment. He served on the home front and died in Ham Green Hospital Bristol of TB.
Edward was a first cousin of Harry Skuse who also lost his life during the Great War.
