Eynon George Arthur Bowen was born in 1893. His parents were Captain Eynon George Rice Bowen of Troedyraur, Cardiganshire and Georgina Catherine Bowen. His widowed mother lived in Harcombes, Hambrook
Eynon joined the 22nd Squadron of the Royal Flying Corps and became a Lieutenant. His secondary regiment was the Royal Garrison Artillery. He was shot down and killed while flying behind enemy lines. He died on the 8th September 1916 at the age of 23
Eynon is remembered on the Arras Flying Services Memorial in France. He is also remembered on the Winterbourne Down memorial in All Saints Churchyard and Whiteshill Common Memorial (Winterbourne Down face) in Hambrook
