Captain Eynon George Rice Bowen was born in 1864. He had lived at Troedyraur in Cardiganshire in Wales. He was married to Georgina Catherine Bowen who lived at Harcombes in Hambrook. His son Lieutenant Eynon George Arthur Bowen was killed in the war (see the separate entry for him)

Captain Eynon was in the ASC Remounts. He was invalided out of the army and died at Hambrook in 1916. There is not a Commonwealth War Graves Commission certificate available for him. He is buried in the All Saints Churchyard in Winterbourne Down and he is remembered on the Whiteshill Common Memorial Cross (Winterbourne Down face) in Hambrook
