Frank was born Circa 1897, Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia. Although his correct Christian name is Frank, he signed his enlistment papers Francis. He married Gladys Woodruffe in Bristol on 17/02/1917.
Immediately before their wedding, Francis and Gladys both resided in Furley Road, Greenbank, Eastville (Francis was in the UK on leave).
Frank served with the 2nd Battalion, Australian Machine Gun Corps and was Killed in Action on 10/06/1918.
Frank Murphy is commemorated on the Christ Church Downend Memorial and the Staple Hill (Page Park) Memorial.
