Frank was stationed at RAF Hornchurch in Essex and was killed whilst working as ground crew after being hit by a piece of a propeller blade that shattered when Spitfire IX, MK256 of No 485 Squadron tipped over during start up. His death was registered in Chichester and he was buried in All Saints Churchyard Compton Greenfield.
