Frederick Albert Ferris served with the Army Catering Corps attached 50th Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps.
At the end of 1941 Frederick was stationed in Surrey with the catering corps and he married Sylvia Rachel Alden, in Sodbury in early 1942. At the time of his death he was attached to the 50th Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps and fighting in Italy near the Eastern End of the Gustav line. This was a heavily defended German line of defence stretching from West to East across Italy.
