George was born Circa 1889 in Belgaum, India (his Father served in the army). The 1911 Census tells us that George's parents came from Scotland, and he was living with them and his elder sister at the time. George married Blanche Jane Kendall in 2nd Quarter 1912 in Bristol. and they had one daughter, Joyce Molly born 9/9/1915.

George served with the 5th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment and was Killed in Action on 14/10/1918.

George is commemorated on the Christ Church Downend Memorial and the Staple Hill (Page Park) Memorial.
He is also commemorated on the Fishponds Park Memorial.
