George was born at Filton, the son of a yeast dealer and the second youngest of ten children with five sisters and four brothers.
George was injured twice and awarded a wound stripe in October 1916 and September 1917. George died in second Southern General Hospital Bristol (Bristol Royal Infirmary) four months after the Armistice. The cause of his death is not known but it is likely to have been war related.
