Further information:

Geoffrey was born in Downend, the son of a motor engineer and on leaving school, he worked with engines like his father. Geoffrey married Una Audrey Cambridge in Kingswood in Spring of 1940.

Geoffrey enlisted in the RAF in March 1941 and continued to work with engines through service with the 136 RSU (repair and salvage unit). He was stationed in India and his unit carried out engine changes on forced landed aircraft and repair of damage, thus boosting the servicing manpower of squadrons. The circumstances surrounding Geoffrey's death are not known.
