He was the youngest of his siblings and had 2 bothers and 5 sisters. He lived with his married sister Lottie Emily Masters initially in Eastbourne and then in Horton.

George served with the 8th Battalion, Royal Hampshire Regiment. George died in Algiers at a time when there was no active combat taking place in North Africa and only holding troops were in place. Therefore, the cause of George’s death cannot be established.
