Hubert John was born in 1896, 4th Quarter - baptised St Mary’s Church, Bitton on 25 December 1896. The birth and baptism records are in the Christian names of Hubert John, but subsequent military records record him as John.
On the 1911 Census Hubert John is living with his parents (his father was a bootmaker) and five brothers and sisters at Redfield Hill, Bitton. The pension card record his mother’s address as Redfield Hill 1917.
Hubert John served with the 1st/4th Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry and died on 08/03/2016, Missing presumed Killed in Action.
