James D Weedon was born in 1891 in Badminton to parents, J.R. and Martha Weedon. He was brother to William, Rose, Albert and Mabel. James married Lucy May Bennett of the Bell Hotel, Aylesbury, Bucks in 1910, in Dursley

James served with "A" Battery, 174th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery as a Gunner. James was Killed in Action on the 25th September 1917 at the age of 26 years. He is buried in the La Clytte Military Cemetery, West Vlaanderen, Belgium

James D Weedon is remembered on the Badminton Memorial board in the Village Hall and on the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, now at Yate and District Heritage Centre under Badminton
