120th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery. In October 1943 John’s regiment was in Bournemouth for beach landing exercises in cooperation with 113th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, under whose command it would operate on D-Day. John was accidentally killed during the course of these exercises.
