In 1901, John Nash then age 3 was a boarder with Francis and Harriet Cox who lived in Marshfield. In 1911 John lived in Warmley with a James Nash age 61, who is referred to as his uncle. However James Nash appears to be his Grandfather. Lily (or Lilly) Nash was the daughter of James Nash and can be found on all the Census entries from 1871, and never married (she had an older son Albert). In 1901 James Nash and the rest of the family lived in Warmley. Lily died in 1923.

John James Nash enrolled in Bristol and served with the 12th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. He was Died of Wounds on 10/08/1918 aged 20 or 21.
