John Noble Winter was born in 1881 (June Quarter) in the Barton Regis registration district. He married Louisa Parsons in 1902 (December Quarter) in the Pontypridd registration district. He was living in Pontypridd in 1911
John joined the 115th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery as a driver. He died in April 1916 at the age of 35. He is buried in Rhondda (Trealaw) Cemetery in South Wales. His name appears on the Winterbourne Roll of Honour (August 1917). It is recorded on this that he was a gunner in the Royal Field Artillery and that he died in hospital
