Kenneth went to Lord Wandsworth College Hook Hampshire 1936-1943 then enlisted in the RAF. After attending Durham University, he trained in Canada and gained his Pilot’s “wings”. He returned to the UK and transferred to the Fleet Air Arm as a Sub-Lieutenant and was stationed at Crimond Aerodrome in Scotland, a RN training establishment also known during WWII as HMS Merganser. Kenneth died on the return journey of a routine flight in a fighter aircraft in bad visibility when he struck the mast of a fishing vessel and crashed into the sea.
