Kenneth was the son of a senior office clerk. He enlisted in the RAFVR in 1940 and was killed during the North African Campaign (10 Jun 1940 – 16 May 1943) the following year. The Campaign was an allied victory but at a cost of 250,000 allied casualties. Kenneth's body was never found and the Air Forces panels of the Alamein Memorial where he is remembered, commemorate more than 3,000 airmen of the Commonwealth who died in the campaigns in Egypt, Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Greece, Crete and the Aegean, Ethiopia, Eritrea and the Somalilands, the Sudan, East Africa, Aden and Madagascar, who have no known grave.
