295 Army Field Company, Royal Engineers (Tower Hamlets Engineers).

295 Army Field Company were assigned to IV Corps after Dunkirk, and went to North Africa late in 1940. In March of 1941 the company was engaged in destroying port installations and jetties at Bardia and Sollum, putting water supplies out of action and in cratering roads to hinder the Axis advance. As Rommel advanced, they became caught up in the siege of Tobruk and Morris lost his life during this period.
