Paul Aime Bourdillon was born in India in 1899. His parents, the Rev. Francis Wright and Kathleen Bourdillon, were missionaries. Paul's father was the vicar of Horton from 1914 to 1923. Before he went to India the Rev. Francis Wright had been an influential member of the Newlyn School of Artists in Cornwall

Paul Aime Bourdillon served with the Royal Engineers, Works Directorate and became a Second Lieutenant. Paul died on 20th March 1919 at the age of 20 years and is buried in Tehran War Cemetery, Iraq

Paul Aime Bourdllon is remembered on the Horton Church Plaque and also on the Chipping Sodbury and District Memorial Cottage Hospital board, now at Yate and District Heritage Centre under Horton
