Raymond had one sister. He was fighting with his regiment in the Italian Campaign and on the 14th of September they advanced as far as Misano near Rimini. During the following two days they were heavily shelled by German Panzer divisions and Raymond’s tank took a direct hit on the 16th. He died of his wounds the following day and was initially buried at Misano.
