Further information:

Reginald was the eldest of 5 children with 2 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers.

He landed in Burma at the beginning of March with the 2nd Chindit expedition. The Chindits were special operations units of the British and Indian armies, who saw action between 1943–1944, during the Burma Campaign. They attacked Japanese troops, facilities and lines of communication, deep behind Japanese line and as a consequence had a very high casualty rate. Reginald died during heavy fighting just 2 weeks after he arrived.
