Although the correct Christian names are Francis Sidney, the census records for 1901 and 1911 record him as Sidney.
In September 1914, Sidney joined the Red Cross and served in the Duchess of Westminster Hospital at La Touquet, France, in November 1915 he enlisted in the Royal Army Medical Corps. He served at No.24 General Hospital, Etaples, France from 1917. He died on 1/1/1919 Bristol General Hospital from Erysipelas whilst home on leave.
