Silas Pritchard was the son of Evelena Pritchard and brother to Ernest and Willie. Silas was living in Aberavon, Glamorganshire before the war.

Silas was an Lance Corporal with 9th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment and was Killed in Action on the 6th September 1916 aged 32.

Silas Pritchard is remembered on the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, which is now at Yate and District Heritage Centre.
